Glasgow Celtic Crest

David from Sports Therapy Scotland recently visited Celtic Football Club’s Lennoxtown training facility.

David had  been invited to attend to demonstrate the use of Trigger Point Performance Therapy products to Kenny McMillan Head of the Sports Science Team.

Celtic had recently bought some Trigger Point Therapy Grids, Blocks , footballers and massage balls from Sports Therapy Scotland.

Kenny was obviously very familiar with foam rollers as virtually every professional sport uses them in some manner or another. The difference with the TP Therapy range is its unique design and with The Grid it outperforms regular foam rollers on several accounts.

This was re-iterated by a couple of the 1st team squad who decided to join in the session and seemed delighted with the results of the Grid Foam Roller.

From the sports science perspective Kenny and the rest of the team all keenly participated in the Grid routines followed by the starter kit routines –footballer, block and massage ball in various positions.

They were very responsive with an understanding of how and why each position was important to all sportspeople not just professional football players. Overall the feedback from all including one “old head” Danny McGrain was very encouraging .

David has been invited back to the Lennoxtown training facility to be introduced to the players and take them through a full TP Performance Therapy routine , until then we will leave the guys to get familiar with their new kit.

It was a great session.
